How do I open a Perpetual Contract account and transfer funds into it?
To trade Vantage Gold Perpetual Contracts, you open a separate Perpetual Contract account (the contract account) from your Vantage account, then move USD into it on the Fund Transfer page. You need a valid Vantage account, completed KYC (know your customer, identity) verification, and a region where Perpetual Contract trading is allowed. The contract account is isolated from your main CFD (contract for difference) account.
Who can open a Perpetual Contract account
You can open a Perpetual Contract account if both of the following are true:
- - You hold a valid Vantage account and have completed KYC verification.
- - Your account region supports Perpetual Contract trading. Some regions are restricted due to regulatory requirements.
How to open a Perpetual Contract account
- 1. Log in to your Vantage account.
- 2. Go to the “Contracts” section.
- 3. Read and agree to the Perpetual Contract Account Agreement.
- 4. Complete the Risk Assessment questionnaire, if it is shown to you.
- 5. The contract account is created with a balance of zero by default.
- 6. Choose a supported currency and transfer funds into the contract account (see the next section).
How to transfer funds into or out of the Perpetual Contract account
The contract account uses USD as its margin and settlement currency. Margin is the collateral your positions hold. Settlement is the currency in which profit and loss is paid.
To move funds into the contract account:
- 1. Go to the “Fund Transfer” page.
- 2. Select the direction “Other Account → Contract Account”.
- 3. Enter the transfer amount and confirm.
To move funds out of the contract account:
- 1. Go to the same “Fund Transfer” page.
- 2. Select the direction “Contract Account → Other Account”.
- 3. Enter the transfer amount and confirm.
“Other Account” means any account you select other than the Contract Account.
Why the Perpetual Contract account is separate from your main account
The Perpetual Contract account is fully isolated from your CFD main account:
- - Losses in the contract account do not reduce balances in other accounts.
- - Position risks in other accounts do not affect the contract account.
- - Margin requirements and risk control mechanisms are calculated independently for each account.
For how positions are liquidated (forcibly closed) in the contract account, see Perpetual Contract Liquidation Rules.
