How to Adjust Leverage
Perpetual Contracts support leverage adjustment within the range permitted by each contract. The minimum and maximum leverage may vary by contract and risk limit tier — refer to the trading page for the applicable values.
1. Accessing the Leverage Adjustment Panel
In the order panel of the Trading Interface, tap the "Isolated · 10x" label in the top-left corner (margin mode and leverage multiplier are displayed together). In the pop-up menu, select "Adjust Leverage" to open the leverage settings panel.
① Tap the "Isolated · 10x" label | ② The Adjust Leverage panel appears |
2. Setting the Leverage Multiplier
The panel contains the following elements:
Number input field: Enter the target multiplier directly (e.g., "20").
- / + buttons: Decrease or increase leverage by 1 unit at a time.
Slider: Drag to any position between 1x and the maximum leverage for a quick rough adjustment.
a: After confirming the multiplier is correct, tap the "Confirm" button to apply the setting. The label in the top-left corner of the page will update to the new leverage multiplier.
b: Higher leverage requires less margin but increases the risk of forced liquidation.
c: Beginners are advised to start with lower leverage (e.g., 5x–10x) and gradually increase it as they become familiar with contract mechanics.
3. Situations Where Leverage Cannot Be Adjusted
The following three common situations will trigger a prompt and block the adjustment:
Prompt Message | Trigger Reason | Resolution |
Leverage must be within the minimum and maximum range | The entered multiplier exceeds the maximum leverage allowed for this contract (or is below the minimum of 1x) | Adjust the multiplier to within the contract's allowed range |
Cannot adjust leverage while active pending orders exist | There are unfilled pending orders (Open Orders) for the current trading pair | Cancel all pending orders first, then re-adjust leverage |
Insufficient Balance | The required margin at the selected leverage exceeds the available account balance | Transfer more funds to the Perpetual Contract account, or lower the target leverage multiplier |
Position Status: If you have an existing position with no unfilled orders and sufficient account balance, you can adjust leverage. After adjustment, the system will recalculate margin usage and the estimated liquidation price. Please review the changes before proceeding.
